Old San Juan Outfit Shoot Guide: 5 Can’t Miss Places!!

I wanted to make sure I was able to capture some Old San Juan outfit posts during my trip to Puerto Rico. There was such a beautiful backdrop to work with on every corner. Old San Juan was relatively small and something that you can get through in one day. I listed some great restaurants and sights to see during your stay, HERE, but I wanted to get into the details about the perfect Instagrammable spots in this little city that you can’t miss.

For my Old San Juan outfit, I knew I wanted a sundress and I had ordered one from Revolve but when it came it didn’t fit! I go to Notre Dame and unfortunately, shopping does not meet my standards in this area. I normally like to get my dresses from websites like Revolve, ASOS, Topshop, or Storets. This time, I had a narrow selection when visiting the middle-of-nowhere Midwest mall. I ended up finding this matching set at Forever 21 and it all worked out in the end. I decided to pair it with a beaded bag that I picked up at Urban Outfitters for only $5! If you are looking to shoot a travel outfit in Old San Juan you should be prepared for some very warm weather and a lot of color. It is good to wear a more neutral colored sundress that can match any of the colorful backgrounds that you are next to.

We started in the center of Old San Juan by the water and went from there. I ended up in Old San Juan twice during my trip which helped me get the best images! I wore a casual coral colored dress for my first time there and just focused more on exploring the city instead of my photos. Then, I came back specifically to shoot for my blog post and this is when I got the best images. I recommend doing that so your photography session does not distract you from getting to experience this amazing city! When you finally get down to shooting for your blog and Instagram (or just for fun!) check out my favorite spots for snapping a pic in Old San Juan.

The Best Spots!

—Luna and Sol Street—

—Santa María Magdalena de Pazzis Cemetery—

—Plaza de Armas—

—La Lanterna Italian restaurant—

—Caleta de as Monjas—

—Castillo San Felipe—

I feel like I will definitely need to return to Old San Juan for another shoot sometime soon! There were so many great places for fashion photography that just one week could not do justice. If you are visiting, you will find all of my suggested locations within one mile of each other so you can easily walk through these options. I hope you all get the shot! And if you do send it to me, I would love to see your work!
